Day 1
Anchorage-Seward: travel south along edge
of Turnagain Arm and Chugach Mountains; visit to Portage
Glacier Center; early afternoon arrival in Seward at head of
Resurrection Bay; visit Seward Sealife Center; board boat
for trip to Fox Island Wilderness Lodge at the mouth of the
Bay; overnight cabins with beach walk
Day 2
Seward - Hope: depart Fox Island by boat
for trip to spectacular Kenai Fjords National Park; visit
enroute to Chiswell Islands Wildlife Refuge and tidewater
Holgate Glacier; return Seward and drive through Kenai
Mountains to end-of-the-road gold rush town of Hope;
overnight in log cabins on edge of rushing Bear Creek
Day 3
Hope - Seldovia: Follow Kenai River through
Cooper Landing, Soldotna and Kenai; skirt edge of Cook Inlet
with impressive volcanoes lining the other side; arrive
Homer to board boat to road inaccessible fishing village Seldovia with tour enroute; waterfront inn
Day 4
Seldovia - Hope:
morning exploration of Seldovia and optional afternoon walk
of "Otterbahn" trail; PM return to Homer by air taxi
(beautiful views!); overnight in the creekside log cabins in
Hope
Day 5
Hope -
Anchorage: optional walk overlooking Turnagain Arm
on Gull Rock Trail; optional gold panning instruction by
local gold miner; visit to Girdwood and northernmost
rainforest; return to Anchorage in the afternoon
